Students who wish to enroll in an academic program at the “Maderna/Lettimi” Conservatory must register obligatorily on the Universitaly platform within the deadline for submitting admission applications set by the Conservatory.
At the same time as submitting the application on Universitaly, students must submit the application on Isidata by following the procedure indicated on the website https://www.madernalettimi.it/news/ammissioni-aa-20252026-sessione-unica-estiva
Students of Chinese nationality participating in the Marco Polo or Turandot projects must complete the pre-registration within the deadlines annually indicated in the guidelines issued by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR).
- For access to AFAM institution courses, non-EU citizens are considered equivalent to EU citizens if they meet one of the following conditions:
- Citizens of the following countries: Vatican City, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Andorra, San Marino;
- Non-EU citizens holding a long-term residence permit or a valid residence permit (for work, family reasons, asylum, religious reasons);
- Non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy for at least one year at the time of submitting the admission application, who have obtained a higher education qualification in Italy;
- Non-EU citizens with a valid residence permit for study reasons, enrolled in an academic course at an Italian institution in the previous academic year.
- Non-EU citizens who do not fall into any of the above conditions can only submit their admission application through Italian diplomatic representations in their home country (embassies or Italian consulates), via the Universitaly platform.
Documents to be attached to the application
- Copy of a valid passport
- A copy of the receipt of the residence permit application, accompanied by a copy of the passport with the specific entry visa for non-tourist reasons issued by the Questura, or a copy of the valid residence permit.
- Declaration of value issued on-site by the Italian Diplomatic Authority in their country of origin, attached to the original diploma, from which the validity of the qualification mentioned in the subject must be evident.
- Certificate issued by the competent academic authority certifying the subjects studied and the exams passed to obtain the foreign qualification.

- Students with a final secondary education qualification obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, which grants access to university in their home country, can enroll in the First Level Academic Diploma courses.
Students holding a first-level qualification (EQF level 6), such as a degree issued by a university or a post-secondary qualification obtained at a non-university higher institute that allows, locally, the continuation of university studies at the next level, can enroll in the Second Level Academic Diploma courses. - Admission is also permitted to foreign students holding an equivalent qualification to those mentioned above, legally recognized.
- Students with a qualification obtained within the European Community are required to present an official translation into Italian.
- Non-EU students must present the “declaration of value in loco,” in the original version, issued by the Italian Diplomatic Authority in their home country, attached to the original diploma, which must specify the validity of the qualification in question.
- A necessary requirement to submit an application for admission is possession of a certification of Italian language proficiency at level B2 (for international students) and level B1 (only for Marcopolo/Turandot students).
During the admission exam, after hearing the candidate, the committee may still take into consideration the assignment of an Italian language deficiency to the candidate. Such deficiency must be addressed within the first academic year by enrolling in the courses organized by the university's Language Center at the University of Bologna, with which the Conservatory has an agreement.
